Functions in R and C, including the theory of Fourier series, Fourier integrals and part of that of holomorphic functions, form the focal topic of these two volumes. Based on a course given by the author to large audiences at Paris VII University for many years, the exposition proceeds somewhat nonlinearly, blending rigorous mathematics skilfully with didactical and historical considerations. It sets out to illustrate the variety of possible approaches to the main results, in order to initiate the reader to methods, the underlying reasoning, and fundamental ideas.
MATLAB Differential and Integral Calculus
It seems that you're in Germany. We have a dedicated site for Germany. MATLAB is a high-level language and environment for numerical computation, visualization, and programming. In addition to giving a short introduction to the MATLAB environment and MATLAB programming, this book provides all the material needed to work with ease in differential and integral calculus in one and several variables. Among other core topics of calculus, you will use MATLAB to investigate convergence, find limits of sequences and series and, for the purpose of exploring continuity, limits of functions.
Richard Courant's classic text Differential and Integral Calculus is an essential text for those preparing for a career in physics or applied math. Volume 1 introduces the foundational concepts of "function" and "limit", and offers detailed explanations that illustrate the "why" as well as the "how". Comprehensive coverage of the basics of integrals and differentials includes their applications as well as clearly-defined techniques and essential theorems. Multiple appendices provide supplementary explanation and author notes, as well as solutions and hints for all in-text problems. Topics In Integral Calculus by Bansi Lal Book Summary: In view of the heavy syllabus in Mathematics and the limited time at the disposal of the teacher in the class-room, only typically questions just sufiicient to give the student an adequate practice in the formulae or methods, have been given in a set after an Article or two. Great care has been taken to include in a gradual manner almost all the standard questions on the subject. References to Examinations have been invariably given so that the student may realize their relative importance. Hints to difficult questions have been given to encourage the student to come prepared from home and thus quicken the progress of the subject in the class-room. For the more ambitious and voracious reader, however, a set of Miscellaneous Examples, not to form necessarily a part of the class-work has been appended to each chapter to try his skill. By Murray Bourne , 25 Apr OK, it looks old and dusty, but Calculus Made Easy [PDF] is an excellent book and I strongly recommend it to those of you who are struggling with calculus concepts. It's also great for teachers, to give you ideas on how to explain calculus so it doesn't confuse the hell out of everyone. He quite rightly points out that many math text book writers are more interested in impressing the reader with sophisticated calculus techniques than explaining the basic concepts. In other words, this was one of the first ever "Calculus for Dummies" books. Thompson puts great effort into explaining what is going on, rather than jumping straight into the calculations.
