At some point in , for reasons mostly unknown, Hanna Barbera had a falling out with Western Publishing, and all existing Hanna Barbera properties left Western Publishing. The comics license ended up Charlton Comics, while the children's book license ended up with Ottenheimer Publishers which sometimes published under the name Modern Promotions or sub-licensed to a company called Modern Promotions. The Wonder Books were published under this license. Some of these characters had Gold Key comics and some had Charlton comics. After Rand McNally, Ottenheimer Publishers and Marvel comics gave up on Hanna Barbera, other publishers would briefly hold the license and put out a few things. Harvey comics released comics that reprinted Charlton comics in the early 90's. Archie comics made tons of Hanna Barbera comics in the mid 90's until Warner Bros bought Turner and decided that DC comics should be the exclusive home of Hanna Barbera.
