A Dance with Dragons 2: After the Feast by George R.R. Martin

Martin's Game of Thrones. Every George R. Numerous deadlines have been missed and fans are rabidly awaiting news of when book six will finally hit the shelves. Winter is coming, I told you, long ago… and so it is. They had six hours for this final season. There are characters who never made it onto the screen at all, and others who died in the show but still live in the books… so if nothing else, the readers will learn what happened to Jeyne Poole, Lady Stoneheart, Penny and her pig, Skahaz Shavepate, Arianne Martell, Darkstar, Victarion Greyjoy, Ser Garlan the Gallant, Aegon VI, and a myriad of other characters both great and small that viewers of the show never had the chance to meet. But hey, I thought the same thing last year.

Der 5. Band 3 und 4 haben mir deutlich weniger gut gefallen. There are no more books to be read. It might take another five years before Winds of Winter is released. And there are so much questions that need to be answered. After the feast was again a very enjoyable read. The story is very detailed and would be near perfect if Dany would finally go to Westeros.

Filled with vividly rendered set pieces, unexpected turnings, assorted cliffhangers and moments of appalling cruelty, A Dance with Dragons is epic fantasy as it should be written: passionate, compelling, convincingly detailed and thoroughly imagined. In the aftermath of a colossal battle, the future of the Seven Kingdoms hangs in the balance once again—beset by newly emerging threats from every direction. In the east, Daenerys Targaryen, the last scion of House Targaryen, rules with her three dragons as queen of a city built on dust and death. But Daenerys has three times three thousand enemies, and many have set out to find her. Yet, as they gather, one young man embarks upon his own quest for the queen, with an entirely different goal in mind.
